Listen to your heart

Today's message is rather quick and clean: If you really want to lead a tribe, be it servicing a market as leader, gathering followers around you on social networks or make people share and support your visions in real life, you really have to be resonant to yourself.

A few weeks ago, I was totally fascinated by how Seth Godin addressed issues under the topic "The tribes we lead" in a TED conference talk. For those of you who want to see the full talk, watch it here.

I will address his very interesting and challenging theses on a weekly basis. Today I'd like to talk about what it means to be you. Just you.

Today's message is rather quick and clean: If you really want to lead a tribe, be it servicing a market as leader, gathering followers around you on social networks or make people share and support your visions in real life, you really have to be resonant to yourself. Listen to your heart beat. Start to notice the beats whithin a beat. Get an idea of what you really want, and oppose that against the jealousy your heart has been silenced with. Yes. Jealousy. It is the biggest driving force to silence the voice of your heart. All of a sudden, you will start to have a longing in stuff you see in others. That. Is. Just. Not. You. But who knows, you see this and that, you want to get it. And like a nutshell in an ocean, you will be tempest tossed, long time overhearing that little voice telling you who you really are.

Before I go into detail about what Seth Godin inspired me to think off, listen to yourself: Are you leading yourself, or are you being lead by lustrous desires that shade your real dreams. Maybe you do not want to be the Super photographer or business person everybody sees out there. You just want to be the guy who works in that small bakery and produces this lovely smelling, healthy-tasty-savory bread? Have the courage to dismiss the lust of leading you nowhere, something that will get you nothing but fading glory. Have the courage to follow that little voice that turns you into a Master. A master of yourself. And then, if necessary, you will see others following by your example.

Narayanan, an up and coming five-star chef on his way to Switzerland, had the courage to listen to his heart. Look what he does now.

Start listening. Now.
